Deacon Tom Gotschall

Archdiocese of Atlanta
Building Chair, St. Andrews Catholic Church
Roswell, GA

Deacon Tom Gotschall calls himself a STUDENT of the Catholic Faith.  Whether preaching a Sunday Homily, preparing a faith formation talk, assembling a parish development team or discussing a school assignment with one of his children, he is constantly taking notes.

Deacon Tom currently serves at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Roswell, GA.  He is the Chaplain of the Archdiocese of Atlanta Catholic Committee on Scouting. His professional background is in the building construction industry.  He has a construction consulting and teaching business and he arbitrates construction and real estate disputes nationally.

Deacon Tom recruited the Capital Campaign chairman for the recent St. Andrew Building Renovation and he recruited and chaired the Building Committee during a time when the parish was led by two, quite different pastors and an interim administrator.  He learned much about parish dynamics and in the areas of maintaining parishioner positive excitement and meeting challenges with good cheer.

Deacon Tom and his wife Valerie have had 8 children, 5 of whom have gone to be with the Lord after miscarriages.  They consider it an honor and privilege to have homeschooled their three other children. Their eldest is a recent graduate from Ave Maria
